Vaginal Reconstructive Surgery

Vaginal reconstructive surgery is surgery focusing on the area in and around the vagina to restore function and appearance. Vaginal reconstructive surgery is used to correct anatomic defects or damage to the vaginal area to improve the patient's quality of life.

It can be performed to treat urinary incontinence, to tighten vaginal muscles and get rid of excess tissue, or to reconstruct a new vagina following surgery for vaginal cancer, among other procedures.

Vaginal reconstructive procedures range from major surgery performed under general anesthesia to minimally invasive procedures performed as outpatient surgery.
