Our team of physicians - national and international leaders in their fields of specialization - is a multi-disciplinary team of attending physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, postdoctoral fellows and research nurses.

The close relationship between Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children's Hospital began in 1954 when Texas Children's Hospital opened it doors in the Texas Medical Center. The affiliated residency training program that began at that time between these two internationally renowned institutions continues to flourish today, bringing outstanding benefits to both institutions and their patients.

Today, the department of Pediatrics at Texas Children's has 468 full-time faculty. Some of these faculty members provide staffing for the Pediatric Services at Ben Taub General Hospital, a public hospital that provides care to citizens of Harris County.

In addition to the full-time faculty, there are 165 pediatric house staff, and 184 fellows in pediatric subspecialty training. Training is provided at the fellowship level in all pediatric subspecialty areas, and certification is provided through one of the sub-boards of the American Board of Pediatrics, The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and the American Board of Allergy and Immunology.

My nurse was very nice and a great comfort during a difficult time. I appreciated her words of encouragement and her genuine concern for me. All of the office staff was helpful and treated patients with respect. How wonderful the health care industry would be if everyone was like your staff - especially during a very dark hour of my life.
