The department of Dermatology offers outstanding care for patients with all skin problems, combining the leading-edge treatment Baylor College of Medicine is known for with the patient friendly approach that sets Baylor Clinic apart.

Our board-certified dermatologists have two priorities: quality care and patient satisfaction. We're meeting those priorities through the latest medical technologies, highly specialized diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and a facility that has enabled us to expand our delivery of all facets of medical, surgical and cosmetic skin care.

John E. Wolf Jr., M.D., is professor and chair of the Department of Dermatology at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Wolf earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He completed his internship at Cornell Medical School/Bellevue Hospital in New York City, residencies at both the University of California at San Francisco and St. John's Hospital in London, and a fellowship in tropical dermatology at Instituto Dermatologico, Guadalajara. Dr. Wolf is board certified in dermatology. His clinical interests include psoriasis, hair and nail diseases, rosacea, aging skin, tropical dermatology, melanoma and skin cancer screenings.

Sylvia Hsu, M.D., professor, received her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine. She completed her internship at the University of Pennsylvania, her residency at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, and a research fellowship at Jefferson Medical College. Dr. Hsu is certified by the American Board of Dermatology. Her clinical interests are bullous dermatoses, psoriasis, acne, drug eruptions, skin cancer and moles. She also serves as chief of the Ben Taub Dermatology Service.

Rajani Katta, M.D., associate professor, is director of the Patch Test Clinic for Contact Dermatitis. Dr. Katta earned her medical degree and completed her internship at Baylor College of Medicine. She completed her residency at Northwestern University. Dr. Katta is a board-certified dermatologist with clinical interests that include contact dermatitis, allergic skin reactions and skin cancer screening.

Ramsey Markus, M.D., assistant professor and director of the Laser Center, received his medical degree from the University of Missouri - Kansas City. He completed his internship at Baylor College of Medicine and his residency in dermatology at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He completed fellowship training in laser surgery at the Harvard Department of Dermatology. Dr. Markus is board certified, with clinical interests that include cosmetic and laser dermatology, botox injections, excessive sweating treatments, mild chemical peels, and laser treatments for acne, scars, wrinkles, blood vessels, sun damage, hair removal, brown spots and tattoo removal.

Ida Orengo, M.D., is a professor in the departments of Dermatology and Otolaryngology, and director of the Mohs Surgery Center. She completed her medical degree, her internship and a residency in dermatology at Baylor College of Medicine. She completed fellowship training in Mohs micrographic surgery at Harvard Medical School. A board-certified dermatologist, Dr. Orengo's clinical interests include cutaneous oncology, Mohs micrographic surgery and melanoma.

Theodore Rosen, M.D., professor, is chief of the VA Dermatology Service. Dr. Rosen received his medical degree from the University of Michigan and completed his residency at Baylor College of Medicine. He is certified by the American Board of Dermatology. His clinical interests include cutaneous diseases in African Americans, venereal disease, mycology (fungal diseases), collagen injection, and sclerotherapy.

Carina Wasko, M.D., assistant professor, earned her medical degree from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine.  She subsequently completed her residency in dermatology at Baylor College of Medicine.  Dr. Wasko is certified by the American Board of Dermatology.  Her clinical interests include general medical dermatology, cutaneous manifestations of systemic disease and skin cancer screening.
