Surgery for Endometriosis
Endometriosis is a condition in which tissue from the lining of the uterus, called endometrium, grows elsewhere in the body, usually on the ovaries, fallopian tubes, and other places in the pelvis.
Laparoscopic surgery may be performed to treat endometriosis. During this outpatient procedure, a thin, lighted tube with a camera on the end, known as a laparoscope, is inserted into the abdomen through a small incision. Guided by the laparoscope, other small surgical instruments are then used to cut out the endometriosis tissue or destroy it with heat or a laser.
In some cases the procedure will require traditional abdominal surgery, which requires a larger abdominal incision, resulting in hospitalization and longer recovery periods.

This is my first visit to Baylor Clinic and I am very satisfied. I did not have to wait long to see the doctor. During my appointment she took her time, asking me questions. The employee at the front desk was very courteous and friendly.
