Obstetrics and Gynecology Services

Our Services

Consider the following, when selecting the physician who is right for you:

  • Generalists (GEN) are doctors who deliver babies and provide gynecological care to women throughout their lives.
  • Gynecologists (GYN) are doctors who care for women's health throughout their lives, but do not deliver babies.
  • Gynecology-Oncology (ONC) doctors care for women with gynecological cancer or patients who are at high risk for developing gynecological cancer.
  • Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) doctors manage high-risk pregnancies and babies with special health or genetic conditions such as: pre-term labor, twin-to-twin syndrome and maternal diabetes.
    • This division includes Fetal Interventionists (FI) who perform specialized procedures while the baby is still inside their mothers' womb.
  • Reproductive Endocrinology/Infertility (REI) doctors care for women with hormonal problems and couples that have difficultly conceiving a baby. These doctors perform technical procedures to help a couple get pregnant. They also help women with complicated menopausal issues.
  • Reproductive Genetics/Prenatal Diagnosis doctors provide genetic services for the diagnosis, treatment, counseling, and prevention of birth defects.
  • Urogynecology doctors, or urogynecologists, play a unique role in caring for women, combining expertise in treating women's reproductive systems with expertise in the treatment of urinary tract disorders.

Baylor Clinic's obstetrics and gynecology patients also benefit from new treatments for management of abnormal bleeding, permanent contraception and abnormal Pap smears.
