Comprehensive Bariatric Surgery Center Physicians

Vadim Sherman, MD, FRCSC, is director of the comprehensive bariatric surgery center at BCM and assistant professor of Surgery. Dr. Sherman earned his medical degree from the University of Western Ontario in London, Canada, followed by a residency in general surgery at McGill University in Montreal. He also completed a fellowship in advanced laparoscopic/bariatric surgery at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Sherman is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (F.R.C.S.C.). He is also a member of the American Society of Bariatric Surgeons.

The Comprehensive Bariatric Surgery Center is part of the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine, renowned for state-of-the-art surgical techniques performed by highly trained, specialized surgeons. Baylor College of Medicine offers the bariatric program in partnership with St. Luke’s Episcopal Health System.
