Requirements for Acceptance to Training Program

MD degree, graduate from an approved Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program, completed fellowship application, letter of reference from the residency program director, a Texas Medical License and CPR certification. See Fellowships for list of required documents.

Specialty

Adult reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, adult foot and ankle trauma, sports medicine foot and ankle and children's reconstructive surgery (available).

Baylor College of Medicine affiliated institutions: Baylor Clinic, St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital, The Methodist Hospital, Texas Children's Hospital, Shriners Hospitals for Children-Houston Unit, Ben Taub General Hospital and Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Texas Orthopedic Hospital, Memorial Hermann Hospital, Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital.

Conferences

Attendance is required at the following: Orthopedic Grand Rounds/Weekly, Foot and Ankle Case Conference/Weekly, AM Teaching Conferences relating to specialty, and visiting Lectureships.

Research

A research project is required, with submission for publication prior to completion of the Fellowship.

All patients, diagnosis and procedures computer coded. All private and clinic records available for review.

Patients/Clinic Office<

675-The fellow is responsible for patient care of participating physician in the sports medicine service, and supervision of resident patient care.

Surgery

Fellow is responsible for patient care of participating physicians on the foot service and supervision of resident patient care.

Teaching Aids

Video programs and cadaver dissections. Lower extremity library. Fellow will develop personal slide library by photographing major surgical procedures. All equipment provided.
